We’re thrilled to finally be able to share with you our brand new animated video as part of the UK’s Brain Tumour Awareness Month!
The new, visually engaging animation will enable our Consortium members to clearly demonstrate how significant the outcome of the new neurological equipment currently being developed as part of the project could be for those diagnosed with brain disease.
With an aging population, we are experiencing a significant rise in those affected with brain disease, with a staggering 5,000 people losing their lives to brain tumours in the UK every year. EDEN2020 has the ambition to create a precision neurosurgical platform for diagnostics and therapy through a minimally invasive approach. The robotic system was initially designed to deliver medications to tumours in the brain that do not currently respond well to conventional treatments, but the researchers also hope that the end result will be applicable to an extensive range of drug delivery and surgical systems.
EDEN2020’s Principal Investigator, Professor Ferdinando Rodriguez Y Baena says ‘I am very excited to share this dissemination video with the world, as I think it captures our vision for EDEN2020 perfectly! We have some way to go, but our progress to date is very encouraging and I remain confident that 2020 will be a good year for brain science.’
