Discover the full EDEN2020 story, from biomimicry to a novel fully functional robotic system, in this impactful video created with h10 agency.

The pinnacle of a 15-year internationally collaborative research journey in precision medicine; discover the novel EDEN2020 flexible and steerable catheter, developed for minimally invasive neurosurgery and driven by a state-of-the-art robotic platform. In this impactful video created in collaboration with h10 agency, we depict for the first time the EDEN2020’s journey from bench to bedside.

‘As of now, we have a fully functional technology platform for precision neurosurgery that could be tuned to address any number of clinical subspecialties’ said EDEN’s PI Ferdinando Rodriguez y Baena.

Initially inspired by biomimicking an ovipositing wasp, the EDEN2020 system has been designed to have wide applications across minimally invasive neurosurgery including drug delivery, laser ablation, taking diagnostic readings of brain signals, and delivery of electrical stimulation. The catheter is driven by an innovative robotic platform and in the future could help to diagnose and treat brain tumours, epilepsy, and neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson’s.

Here we present the first 3D animation of how it works and foreseeable applications.
